Oy Backman-Trummer Ab has integrated the energy and emission calculation of EcoTransIT World (ETW) into its business process. ETW is one of the world’s best developed carbon foot-print calculators for logistics and provides the carbon footprint, energy consumption and exhaust gas emissions of logistic chains including all transport modes.
ETW methodology, provided by independent scientific institutes (Ifeu, Infras and Fraunhofer IML), is continuously updated and validated with every leap in innovation. The software is accredited by Smart Freight Centre to be in accordance with the GLEC Framework and meets the requirements of the GHG protocol (Corporate Standard) and ISO 14083.
The emissions are determined on the basis of the energy requirement, the associated fuel, and other parameters such as the load factor or emission class. A carrier-specific internal routing is the basis for the identification of the route characteristics.
